Sony A7IV Event Bright Natural Settings
The Key Setting
The A7IV's "AF Subject Shift Sensitivity" setting is critical for events. Set it to 1 (Locked On) for tracking a specific subject through a crowd — the camera will resist jumping to other faces. Set it to 5 (Responsive) for quickly switching between different subjects as the scene changes, such as during a receiving line or group interactions. Assign "Subject Shift Sensitivity" to a custom button or the Fn menu so you can toggle between these two modes instantly as the situation demands. Enable "Silent Shooting" for ceremonies; the A7IV's electronic shutter is fast enough for most event work without rolling shutter distortion.

"Events are not about photography. They are about people. The A7IV is the tool. Your presence is the art. Be present, and the camera will follow."
