Heat: Auto Power OFF Temp. on High, and plan takes around the guide's times. 8K refused: the card is too slow — CFexpress Type A or V60+. Breathing: Breathing Comp. on. Product Showcase: it is not on this body at all.

Cameras Decoded — Camera Select
Camera quits mid-record, hot to the touchAuto Power OFF Temp. → High. Setup → Power Setting Option. The guide rates continuous recording on High, camera started cool, at about 60 minutes of 4K and 30 minutes of 8K at 25°C — roughly half at 40°C. Plan takes around those numbers, and shoot long takes from a tripod: the guide warns against holding a hot body.
8K will not start, or stops at onceThe card is below the speed floor. XAVC HS 8K needs a CFexpress Type A card rated VPG200, or an SDXC card at V60 or faster; XAVC S-I 4K wants VPG200 or V90. The refusal is the camera enforcing the guide's table. Buying note: this camera takes CFexpress Type A only — Type B cannot be used.
The frame pulses when focus racksBreathing Comp. → On. Shooting → Image Quality/Rec → Lens Compensation. The compensation corrects the angle-of-view shift as focus moves, during movie recording.
Stabilization fights you on a manual lensSteadyShot Adjust. → Manual, and dial in the focal length. Shooting → Image Stabilization. A lens that cannot communicate leaves the camera guessing; set the SteadyShot focal length yourself (8–1000mm).
61 megapixels is not enough for a still subjectPixel Shift Multi Shoot. Shooting → Drive Mode. The camera records four or sixteen RAW images to combine in Imaging Edge Desktop (Viewer) into one higher-resolution file. Tripod, still subjects — the guide's examples are art and architecture.
Product Showcase cannot be foundIt is not on this body. Among the Sony bodies in Camera Select, only the a7 IV carries Product Showcase Set. For product work here: Touch Tracking on the item, or manual focus with peaking for a held product that must not drift.
